It's 6:45 am

I've been up for 15 minutes. I got to sleep an extra 10 minutes after the hubby left before I woke up to Kenan waking up Micah. With Micah's new found freedom he loves being able to get up and not have to wait for mommy or papa come get him from his crib. Kenan has been sleeping in until 7:30 or even later lately, but he's been up early 2 days in a row! They are watching Tom and Jerry a.k.a. cat and mouse. I am getting a little quiet time before I start thinking about all I have to do today. Last night, Micah went to bed perfectly in his "new bed" It's not really a new bed. It's just his mattress on the floor. The crib broke yesterday. This is the second time it broke and I just feared that Micah's head would get caught. The 2 pieces (head of crib and side of crib separated. The head separated from the post where it's supposed to be glued. ) separated and one corner of the mattress sagged down creating a hole just big enough for a toddler head. Hubby and I decided taking down the crib was the best option since he climbs out of it anyway. Now it's time to look for a big boy bed.

Last night, Timmy and I went to the the end of the season party for the Yankees. His assistant coach hosted it, and everyone had a great time! They have a huge hill in the backyard. When the email said slip 'n' slide on the hill in our yard I was expecting a slight slope, not an actual gigantic hill! This is a huge sledding hill. It's at the edge of their back yard and slide down into the outfield of a baseball field. They had at least 100 feet of plastic sheeting set up for the kids to slide down. I didn't bring the camera or the video camera because team pics were already taken, and I thought "oh, it's just a little party". I was wrong. I really wished I'd brought the cameras. It was very weird seeing all the guys out of their uniforms. One assistant coach is going to coach next year, and he is going to try draft as many of the boys as possible next year. It was fun getting to know parents and chat, and reminisce about plays, kids on the team, or other teams, and little funny things that happened during the season. The Yankees are not done yet. Timmy is doing Fall Ball league. It's a new league that might be started if there is enough interest. The current teams/coaches will stay together as much as possible. Then there is no practices and there are double header games on Sunday afternoons. It lasts for about 5 weeks. Our head coach got an actual Richfield Baseball game ball signed by each kid on the team. He also got a picture of the entire team with their trophies and the kids signed that too. The assistant coaches got gift cards. The coaches gave the boys a certificate, big league chew, baseball cards and an article on team work and sticking together. It features the MN twins and has lot of good stuff in it for the boys to remember.

Now I need to think about laundry and what to do to get ready for our family's first camping trip this weekend!
